Odisha forced formidable Railways to a goalless draw in their third and last league match of the 69th Santosh Trophy East Zone Qualifiers at Jamshedpur today. But despite the creditable performance, Odisha failed to qualify for the knock-out stage and finished second in the zone with five points from three outings. Railways emerged zone toppers with seven points.
Earlier, Odisha rallied to hold Sikkim to a 1-1 draw in their opening match on January 16. Sukhraj Limbo gave Sikkim the lead in the ninth minute, while Seikh Zaheed fired the equaliser for Odisha in the 25th minute. Odisha won the next match against Chhattisgarh on January 18.
